2017 Mini Workshops are here!

Once again, our long-lived MINI WORKSHOP tradition will bring us together on Saturday afternoon, February 18 at 12:30 pm in Jackman Hall.  Stock up at the refreshment table, unpack your stuff, and settle into a comfy chair, ready to begin the “main course” promptly at 1:00 pm.

How many uses does black paper have?  Find out in “See Your Name In Lights!!!” Make fast friends with a brightly colored gel pen, as it performs its own lettered light show. Pen whisperers Eve Brown and Jean Heidenreich will get you started on your own calligraphic fireworks.

The brush has the floor in Karen Eighmy’s “Experience Pointed Brush Lettering”. And talk about experience! Karen has been the principal brush calligrapher at Josten’s for umpteen years. Let her give you a taste of what the brush can do – from Roman times to Madison Avenue. Take home two different brush lettering exemplars. This workshop is only the beginning!

Or, be inspired by the expertise of nature printer, artist Sue Filbin, who will hold the flashlight for her participants as they journey through “The Steadfast Pocket Book”. Focus on the creation of TWO eight-page, fold-bound books, each one tucked into a matching origami sleeve. Pages will carry a multitude of quotations provided in class.

All of these classes are right for all skill levels – that means you!

Thanks goes to Lynn Ohlhorst who has been hard at work for months, along with our dedicated volunteer teachers, creating this opportunity for all of us. Use these links to read the descriptions and to register!
