Colleagues of Calligraphy Library

The Colleagues have an extensive library inventory. Members have access to a multimedia library of books, videos, slides, magazines and a variety of newsletters. Items can be checked out from September through May.

What's Happening Now!

Member Judith Michalski will offer beginning calligraphy classes, "Beginning Calligraphy - Informal Italic" through the St. Paul Community Education, six sessions starting Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Ramsey Jr. High in St. Paul on Grand Ave. Contact Community Ed. at 651-293-8874 for registration information, or Emily.bugg@spps.org or register online at www.ceregspps.org. The Spring Session for the same class starts Tuesday, April 13, 2010 and runs for 6 sessions. No class April 27 and May 25. Same registration information as above.

Calligraphy class by member Karen Eighmy: "Calligraphy: An Introduction" at Diamondhead Senior Center in Burnsville, Wednesdays, April 7- May12, 6:30-8:30 pm. $89 plus a $16 supply kit. Try your hand at three styles of calligraphy: Foundational Roman, Italic and Blackletter. Fees include hands-on practice, discussion and observation. No previous calligraphy experience required. New Exhibit: The Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibition at the Science Museum of Minnesota will feature twenty-eight folios from The Saint John's Bible. These original pages have never been seen in the Twin Cities and allows the juxtaposition of the worlds's oldest and newest hand-scribed Bibles. Exhibit dates March 12 - October 24, 2010, www.smm.org.
