These three quill knives were owned by Sharlene Jacobson. The blades are ground with one side flat and one side curved to be used with the technique of pulling the knife towards you, as taught by Donald Jackson and George Yanagita.
SOLD!! Knife A is a premium, coveted handmade knife by the very skilled George Yanagita. It is numbered 2. Many wished for one while they waited for George to invite them to buy one. This knife needs to be purchased by a worthy calligrapher who will actually use it. Full of good karma. Price $150. SOLD!
Knives B and C are more humble. They are woodworking tools where the blade has been reshaped and ground to allow for ease of getting those curved cuts in the quill. One may have been reground by Sharlene in a class that George taught. The other was probably reground by George. I don't know which is which. This type of knife is listed for $99 at John Neal but is currently unavailable. Each $50.
