In this hands-on program, brush painter Bob Schmitt will share his process in creating 16 paintings paired with original Chinese calligraphy inspired by traditional Zen artists and teachers.

In 2011, Colleague member Joyce Francis felt a wish to have a small intimate art retreat where artists of multiple disciplines could gather to immerse themselves in making art. For six successive years approximately 50 artists from all over the country attended enrichment workshops in many forms of art in August each year for four days at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. Joyce hopes that the Colleagues will one day choose to continue offering the retreat.
